The Heaphy is situated in the Nelson and Buller areas in Kahurangi National park, a truly beautiful national park. The trek takes you through beautiful bush clad mountains, and beside absolutely beautiful deep flowing crystal clear rivers lined with palm trees and lime stone cliffs, and to the sea,with palm ladden beaches and golden sand. Swim in the beautiful estuarys, and go to sleep to the sound of the surf and the song of the Bellbird. Camp or stay in the beautifully positioned huts, looked after by Conservation department. This four to six day walk features a great variety of natural beauty and is one of New Zealands great walks.
